Join The Fight Against ESPN's Arrogant Disrespect for The AAC

ESPN has shown arrogant disrespect for the AAC by simply dropping the Big East Blog instead of replacing it with an AAC Blog. It is outrageous for them to give Stanford, a single school, their own blog while ignoring an entire conference which, for at least one more year has full BCS status. AAC fans from all over the conference are striking back here - yesterday, ESPN's Stanford site was invaded by AAC posters. More recently, Andrea Adelson's ACC Blog http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/57189/tajh-boyd-places-priority-on-chemistry#comment is the target, since she was reassigned from the AAC to the ACC.

Join the fight and spread the word. ESPN has pushed our schools around long enough.

New Conference Name

Why not "Eastern Athletic Conference" or "EAC" for short?

(1) Until last week we thought it would be "The Big EAST" (even when San Diego State and Boise State were in).

(2) The footprint is completely within the eastern half of the continental US

(3) Distinguishes us from the "Mountain WEST"

(4) It 's a simple, straightforward, easily remembered name

If SEC, ACC and MWC work, why won't EAC? What we DON"T need is a name with a number or that will be made fun of (such as "metro" which screams commuter schools).

Free Tulane and Saints App

I just launched a website dedicated to organizing tailgates and watch parties for sports fans. One of the features of the site introduces you to fans that live in your area and follow the same teams as you. It shows where your fans meet for watch parties and ultimately grows your fanbase in your area. This is perfect for alumni groups.

There is also a free app for Android on the Google Play Store called Fan Map that directs your friends to your tailgate. We have an iPhone app dropping soon as well.

Please feel free to check it out, and thanks in advance for any feedback. I live for college sports, and hopefully our site/app can help sports fans get more organized on gameday.

Those titanium necklaces?

I finally tracked down a discount code for TitaniumTwisters.com
! I know various members were searching for this, so I thought I'd
share. They have a discount code "SANTA" that they are using on
their website until the end of December. The "SANTA" code gives
25% discount on all purchases. This is perfect for Christmas, as I can
get on their site and customize those sports rope necklaces (titanium
necklaces) in team colors for people for Christmas. I think they are up
to around 50 colors of rope now. You pick the colors, they assemble and
mail it out within a few days. As we
discussed before, TitaniumTwisters.com is a US company, not someone in China
like most, if not all of the competing rope necklace companies. It
also looks like they have a great fundraising program, if any of you are
looking for a new fundraiser idea. Here's
one I just designed on their website:

Tailgate invite to those coming to tomorrows game

Just wanted to invite you all to tomorrows tailate party on the beautiful Tiger Lane. The spot is A38. It is easy to find. Go to the water fountain at the entrance of the Liberty Bowl gates. Turn north(left) and two rows over will be two Tiger tents together, a high flying Tiger flag, and a big red truck amoungst all the blue and gray. Most security guards and patrons are usually helpful at finding spots. As are fellow tailgaters. Ask for Justin and I will get you fixed up with a tasty meal. If you are interested email me at jhshields76@gmail.com and I will exchange cell numbers with you all. Thanks, looking foward to a fun game

Devon Walker

I've been trying to keep up with his progress. Something that I haven't seen anywhere is what is the extent of his injury? I know he broke his neck, but I haven't seen whether he's completely immobilized or if he has use of arms, above the waist, or even legs. Has anyone heard if there's a chance of recovery?

Thoughts and prayers go out to Devon and his family.

Signed,
A concerned fan.

Interview with Todd Graffagnini previewing UAB

We had a great interview with Todd on Double Coverage, our show covering UAB football. Tony talked about all the injuries and issues Tulane has had to face. We also talked about a potential rivalry with La Tech, the new OCS, and other CUSA news.

We know the struggles that he faces after Chuckie was hurt. I hope that one day soon we can all watch and cheer as Mr Walker walks across the stage and get his degree from Tulane!

Good luck Green Wave!!! See you all in a couple of weeks and may he be on the sidelines if not in body then in spirit!
