It's Christian Daniels, a very fast, 6-foot-2, 205-pound former Miami (Ohio) QB commitment who took an official visit for the Cincinnati game.
He is rated two stars by Rivals.com but had offers from Purdue and Maryland in the spring and will enroll in January. He is from Western Alamance High in Elon, North Carolina.
If Daniels holds on his commitment, which he almost certainly will, Tulane will have four scholarship QBs in the spring, with Jonathan Banks and Glen Cuiellette entering their senior years, Johnathan Brantley entering his junior year and Khalil McClain entering his redshirt freshman year. Patrick Shegog will arrive next fall as a fifth scholarship QB.
Western Alamance is 12-0 and has outscored its opponents 582-83 this year in Class 3A.
According to MaxPreps.com, Daniels is 131 for 211 for 1,819 yards and 20 TDs with six interceptions. He also has run 112 times for 846 yards and 12 touchdowns.
I will have a story on the front page shortly.
