JStock2005 and Wavetime, who were tied entering the bowls, had vastly different bowl performances. Since both of them get to drop a worst week of 3 points, JStock emerges as the winner.

As for the other people who entered every week, Rcnut drops a 1 from week 4, I drop my low of 2, WaveOn drops a 1, ny oscar drops a 1 and winwave drops a 1. No one else entered every week, with chigoyboy and LSU Law Greenie likely missing the bowl edition due to my tardiness in posting it.

I kept a spread sheet (OK, really a handwritten spread sheet) with the results each week but did my weekly updates by going to the previous week's posting and adding the most recent week in my head from that total, so I'm sure there were plenty of errors in those updates. For example, defending pick 'em champion winwave, who I had with 51 points entering the bowls, got four more points in the bowls and ends up with a total of 49 because I had the wrong total in that update. The final standings are completely accurate, or very close to it.

No one had a perfect week of 9 points at any time (Tulane game counted double), and no one scored 9 points in the week I had 10 games on the list. A few of us had zero-point weeks.

Jstock had only one week with fewer than 4 points, which proved to be the difference.

Mr. Smith, you do a great job with Tulane football recruiting. I really like reading your columns. I have a couple of questions -

1. How many will we sign?
2. I know our latest commitment (Donnie Lewis) had contact with TCU and Baylor. I would suspect this would fit a lot of our recruits given the staff's ability to find talent. Can you ask this of all our recruits and post your findings. I think it would lay to rest the stars and under the radar labeling.
3. Who do we have to worry about losing?
4. Is Skinner in school and will the track kid from Curtis be joining the team in the spring?
5. Do we have any chance with any of the big name kids in the area?

ESPN has shown arrogant disrespect for the AAC by simply dropping the Big East Blog instead of replacing it with an AAC Blog. It is outrageous for them to give Stanford, a single school, their own blog while ignoring an entire conference which, for at least one more year has full BCS status. AAC fans from all over the conference are striking back here - yesterday, ESPN's Stanford site was invaded by AAC posters. More recently, Andrea Adelson's ACC Blog http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/57189/tajh-boyd-places-priority-on-chemistry#comment is the target, since she was reassigned from the AAC to the ACC.

Why not "Eastern Athletic Conference" or "EAC" for short?

(1) Until last week we thought it would be "The Big EAST" (even when San Diego State and Boise State were in).

(2) The footprint is completely within the eastern half of the continental US

(3) Distinguishes us from the "Mountain WEST"

(4) It 's a simple, straightforward, easily remembered name

If SEC, ACC and MWC work, why won't EAC? What we DON"T need is a name with a number or that will be made fun of (such as "metro" which screams commuter schools).

I just launched a website dedicated to organizing tailgates and watch parties for sports fans. One of the features of the site introduces you to fans that live in your area and follow the same teams as you. It shows where your fans meet for watch parties and ultimately grows your fanbase in your area. This is perfect for alumni groups.

I've been trying to keep up with his progress. Something that I haven't seen anywhere is what is the extent of his injury? I know he broke his neck, but I haven't seen whether he's completely immobilized or if he has use of arms, above the waist, or even legs. Has anyone heard if there's a chance of recovery?
