What Tulane baseball team needs on Saturday

Since neither this site, the Times-Picayune or Conference USA have it figured out, I'll make it plain and simple.

Tulane qualifies for the CUSA Tournament with a win over UCF on Saturday and a UAB loss to Rice OR a UAB loss to East Carolina. The Green Wave only needs one of the two, and what Memphis does against Southern Miss is immaterial.

The only way Tulane is out with a win is if UAB wins and East Carolina loses. In that scenario, Tulane would tie UAB for sixth place, and UAB would get in because it beat Tulane 2 out of 3.

If East Carolina and Tulane win, those two teams and Houston would be tied, and Tulane would make the tourney in any possible tiebreaker because it beat both of them 2 out of 3. If you play it out with a potential four-team tiebreaker with Memphis or a potential five-team tiebreaker with UAB, Tulane still would get in.

CHECK THIS OUT! OUR GUYS NEED TO GET THIS TO GET BETTER SHOOTING.

A friend/Coach just emailed this to me and thought I would pass it forward. Some of our guys that have a problem shooting should get this ? Seems like it has some credible testimonials.

The J-GLOVE SHOOTING AID, which was released 4-months ago is currently be used (and testimonials) from high profile programs such as Louisville, Stanford, Boston College, Florida, Miami, LSU, as well as NBA teams such as the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs. THE J-GLOVE (AND RELATED PRODUCTS) WILL BE ON SALE UNTIL DECEMBER 25TH! (website below)

www.jglove.com

[URL=http://1percentclub.org/JGloveTrailer.htm]

The J-Glove shooting aid has recently caught the basketball world by storm, with a patented FINGER SPLINT DESIGN that prevents finger flexion at the base of your finger joints. As a result, the design eliminates premature side-to-side wrist action during follow through, which is a major biomechanical flaw for the majority of amateur shooters. The J-Glove design also prevents the ball from every resting on the palm during shot set up, assuring the ball is perfectly balanced on each repetition. NOTHING ON THE MARKET CAN SET UP YOUR SHOT AND FINISH YOUR SHOT, MONEY BACK GUARANTEED!!!

The J-Glove can be purchased at the above link (www.jglove.com) for X-Mas sales prices. It can also be purchased online from major online stores such as Syskos, KBA, Hoops King, Hoop Tube, and Hoopskills.com

To Lurking Tulsa Fans

Do not come on here and make remarks about Hurricane Katrina. They are not appreciated and not remotely amusing to us.

If you want a free forum to lurk around regarding Tulane, take a look at the YOGWF.com, but leave any garbage about Katrina in your head.

99% of the discussion here is on Joe Kennedy's Wave Crest, which is a premium forum. You can not view it without a subscription to The Wave Report.

The Pelican offense....

...has laid a huge egg tonight. On the up side....well, it's only the first game of the season and Tulsa is a much better team. Kemp, Robottom, and Williams look like gamers which should add up to a few wins this year. There's too much on the down side to list here. The D needs a ton of work. Tulsa can move the ball, and they've got some speed but they made the Tulsa D look like they were knee deep in mud. Hang in there Wave!

LSU PREDICION

I find your LSU prediction very interesting. But it sounds like it comes from a Tennessee point of view to be ridiculous.

If there is one team I know, it is LSU

First, Jefferson has a very strong arm. He is a slinger and perhaps can not control it. He has a tendencey to threw behind his receivers and over them and does not have much touch. The delusional LSU fans an writers think he is the second comining of Obama of course. They also think Shepard the qb is the better than Pat White. Lee will not play until they figure out that the other two have no experience at all really, That should be Auburn.
LSU has as stable of adequate running backs but K. Williams is not a speedster and they do not have the oline to gain short yardage against good defenses. They have big fairly fast receivres who can only run three routes and are not elusive in the least. They lost by far their best receiver in Byrd and will not replace him.
They loar too much up front plus by far their best linebacker in Beckwih to improve enough on defense likw they dream of doing. Peterson is a top knotch corner and Jones is a vert good safety, out of position last season. But Chad reported over weight and I wonde about his contration this season. The same with his lowlife brother who disgraced their father and has little self control.

Miles us out coached in half his games every year and even lost two to much inferior teams in 2007 with by far the best team in he country. They game has passed Chavis by. The only thing that will keep his defense from being exposed early is the weak schedule. If Auburn can execute, which they can't, they will start a down spin to terrible season. Florida will expose them, Georgia will shut them down and if Cobb can read a blitz at all expose them. Ole Miss and Alabama will handle them on both sides of the lihe of scrimmage abd Petrino will just outcoach them. They will probably pack it in by that time. Tulane just doesn't have the horses on the defensive line to match up but LSU proved they could not catch Albert Williams and they are not as fast on defense, or offenxe ss they used to be (which is why Chavis's blitz won't be effective against good spread teams). MsU has no offense so LSU will look good there. Neither should Auburn. Georgia will be closer than it should because they won't open it up, likewise with Alabama and Vandy just doesn't have a lot of speed. ULL and Tech lost offensively and Washington has Locker but nothing else. It should be an easy schedule for LSU. But Florida and Ole Miss have too many weapons for it to be close. Alabama just has too much defense and Juilo Jones and Ingram running the ball. Pretty much the same with Georgia with Green and the running back, Cain or King or something. Alabama, Ga. and Ole Miss are all on the road where Miles does not shine and he can't beat UF defense or Tebow anywhere. Petrino will outcoach Miles and so will Toledo, Chizic may well do it and Dooley may will do it. LSU has high expectations. Miles has high expectatios when the bubble bursts it may burst everywhere. Possibly, as you say with Tulane but not likely, unfortuneatly for us, until after the Alabama game.

I can see you point about Nutt but here you sound like a Tennesse fan. Nutt has a very strong defense coming back and a better quarterback than he ever had at Arkansas coming back. He has better receivers across the board than he ever had at Arkansas and Dexter McClusers is not McNabb but he is brings some very special things to table. The only hope of slowing down Ole Miss is that there will be a hole in the offensive line but that is doubtful especially with Jerry anchoring it and it lookes like the great big newcomer is going to be more of and impact player than anticipated. They have a very good and extremely versatile and smart running back in Brandon Bolden who can make the wild Rebel go as well. There is also a joker for other teams in the Nutt package that has never been there before. OC Kent Austin seems to be in his prime and add something that Nutt lacks. Ole Miss could let down but it is not likely and with Locker and Hardy coming from the outside any team that gets behind in the score, which will probably be everybody, is in for a long day. Remember the defensive backfield may huge strides at the end of the year as well. I don't see any one but Alabama having a chance and their offensive output should not be great enough to really challenge the Rebel defense. Florida and Ole Miss may play for the BSC title in December.
