Nice summary, Guerry. It will certainly be interesting how the rotation among running backs turns out. I don't think we have any "All American types", but I think we have several "All Conference" potentials within our group, depending on how much work they get. The two incoming freshmen will probably redshirt, but they both look pretty good to me. I know Badie is also "penciled in" as a kick returner, but I'd think Hilliard or Rounds could also be possible there. Running back is probably the only position on the team where we don't lose much when the starter comes out. We're "thin" most everywhere else.BTW, though none of them played a great deal, several more Tulane RB's have played in the NFL over the last 30 or so years. Marvin Lewis played in one game for the Saints in 1982. Elton Veals played in 15 games for the Steelers in 1984, rushing 31 times for 87 yards. Marcus Allen played four years with the New England Patriots (1987-1991), playing in 37 games and rushing 94 times for 378 yards. And, more recently, Andre Anderson played in two games for the Buffalo Bills in 2010 with no statistics. Regardless, your point is well taken. Since Eddie Pride (over 60 years ago), we've had two top flight NFL running backs-- Tommy Mason and Matt Forte. Bobby Duhon (221 for 840 rushing and 68 for 717 receiving) and Mewelde Moore (507 for 2267 rushing and 220 for 1952 receiving) were clearly solid NFL players, but certainly not "stars." We've not proven to be a great NFL recruiting ground for running backs.

Maybe that will change.
