Lamar Brown came to Tulane over the weekend.

One of the best offensive linemen in the country, according to Rivals, was in New Orleans on Saturday. He went to see the Green Wave with some friends from Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab.

The head coach of the Green Wave, Jon Sumrall, spent time with the in-state star player as Tulane made a strong impact on the offensive line target who was being closely watched by many teams.

"It went well," Brown said of his weekend in Uptown. "I got to know some new coaches and players in my class." People don't work like Coach Sumrall and his team do. The standards they set at Tulane are something I've never heard of at other schools.

The pitch Sumrall and his Tulane team made to Brown put them in a league of their own. They compared the 6-foot-5, 290-pound lineman to Travis Hunter, winner of the Heisman Trophy and a projected first-round pick because he can play on both sides of the ball.

Brown told Rivals, "They talked about me being the Travis Hunter there in the trenches." "That's something I would love to do if I have the chance to do it."

There are different teams interested in Brown, the No. 18 overall player in the Rivals250 and a star at The Boot. These teams want him on both sides of the ball.

In this case, Texas A&M really likes Brown as a defensive end. On the other hand, the Tigers from my home state are chasing one of the best offensive players in the country.

This meant that Brown could play on either side of the line of scrimmage.

"I feel good about them," Brown said. Brown won't make a decision until December, when the Early Signing Period starts.

Brown's next stop is LSU on February 1. He'll be back at Texas A&M on March 22 for the start of spring football, and he has another stop planned for April 19.

The first time Brown goes to Alabama for work is on May 30. Tennessee and Oregon are also likely to have formal visits this summer.
