At long last, the College Cup is about to kick off. ICYMI: The 64-team field has been whittled down to four, with No. 1 seed Duke playing No. 2 seed North Carolina, and No. 2 seed Wake Forest taking on No. 3 Stanford in today’s all-ACC semifinals.

Following an exciting wave of quarterfinal matchups over the weekend, the College Cup is set to begin on Friday, Dec. 6 followed by the title match on Monday, Dec. 9. Three of the four semifinalists hail from the host state of North Carolina, in what will be a thrilling weekend of action in Cary.

No. 2 seed Wake Forest will go up against No. 3 Stanford, while No. 1 Duke will take on their arch rivals, No. 2 North Carolina in the second semifinal.

Stanford shut down Notre Dame 2-0 in their quarterfinal matchup, and Wake Forest edged out USC in PKs following a tough 2-2 battle through regulation and extra time.

Top-seeded Duke turned in an outstanding defensive effort in a 1-0 quarterfinal victory over Virginia Tech, and the Tar Heels secured their College Cup berth via a golden goal in extra time against Penn State, coming out on top 2-1.
