73rd Miss Universe Competition kicks off with dazzling National Costumes: The 73rd Miss Universe Competition is currently underway in Mexico City, Mexico. A record-breaking 130 contestants from around the world are participating, competing for the crown currently held by Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua. The National Costume and Swimwear rounds kicked off the pageant at the Arena Ciudad de México, on November 14, 2024.

The Roku Channel, for the second year, is exclusively live-streaming the Miss Universe Competition on Nov. 16 for free from Mexico City. The 73rd event will also be broadcast on Spanish-language Telemundo.
Mexican-American TV personality Mario Lopez and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo will host the finals, with Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and TV personality Zuri Hall providing live commentary throughout the show held at Arena Ciudad de México at 8pm ET / 7pm CT / 5pm PT.
The finals will feature an enhanced competition structure, with 30 semi-finalists advancing from the preliminary rounds held today (Nov. 14), 12 contestants continuing in evening gowns, and the top five moving forward to the final question segment.
Robin Thicke will perform at the finals, whose musical lineup is curated by Emilio Estefan, the music executive for the event, who will also debut several new original tracks created exclusively for the show. The event marks Miss Universe’s return to Mexico after 17 years.
