Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall has been actively collecting talent from the 2025 transfer portal to strengthen his roster for the upcoming season.
Defensive tackle Trevon McAlpine from Texas Tech, who will have two seasons of eligibility remaining, is the latest addition for Sumrall and company.
The 6’3″, 305-pounder can line up at either the 1-technique or 3-technique position. Last season, McAlpine recorded 21 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. His season high was 5 tackles against Iowa State in a close 23-22 Red Raider win.
A native of Saraland, Alabama, McAlpine was named Alabama 6A Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 after accumulating 101 tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks as a senior.
