Former two-time world champion David Benavidez takes on the hard-hitting and unbeaten David Morrell, with the winner claiming both the interim WBC and WBA "Regular" light heavyweight titles.

Along with the interim belts, the WBC has declared the winner will become mandatory challenger to whoever emerges victorious in Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol's undisputed title rematch later this month.

"I've fought way better fighters than him," Benavidez said on Thursday. "Every fighter says the same thing before the fight, but after the fight they all say, 'David Benavidez is the best.' That’s exactly what David Morrell will say."
