Rising star Floyd Schofield returns to action to take on Rene Tellez Giron on November 2 in Las Vegas. The 12-round bout, plus undercard action, will be broadcast by DAZN.

With over 100 wins as an amateur, Schofield (17-0) quickly caught the eye of Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions. "Kid Austin" impressed in December 2023 with a first-round knockout of Ricardo Torres. His last fight was a March DQ win over Esteuri Suero.

The 22-year-old hopes to send a message of intent to the lightweight elite when he main events a Golden Boy show.

"I am beyond excited for my return to the ring as the official main event and to show the world what I've been working on," said Schofield. "My goal is simple: become a world champion. My opponent has measured up against some tough contenders and will be looking to steal the show, but we won't let him do that this time around."

Mexico's Giron (20-3) has had 13 knockouts and is on a three-fight win streak. He looks to use his impeccable defensive game and timing to halt Schofield's momentum.

"I'm so excited about this fight, like none other so far in my career. Floyd Schofield, he's just another big-name guy on my way to the top of the lightweight division," said Giron. "I will win. My preparation is always great, that's why I just scored two big wins in my last two fights. I like upsets, I'm that guy that will take your heart. I'm a proud fighter of Mexico, I will win this fight for my country, I'm tough."

A title eliminator fight is on the Floyd Schofield vs. Rene Tellez Giron undercard, while an undisputed title fight looks to steal the show.
